Classrooms are overcrowed and under-resourced. Old textbooks are sometimes available, but no books of any other kind.
We provide books for teachers to check out for their classrooms.
Students can choose from a wide variety of books to read whenever in the library.
A “no fail” rule has been put in place, and students are moved up a grade regardless of performance. 1 in 4 struggles to read.
Our librarian hosts a daily story hour, along with after school classes for phonics, science, math, and arts.
